Unveiled on July 29, 2026, the all-new electric Mercedes-Benz GLA transforms the compact SUV with an 800-volt architecture, three powertrains and up to 657 km of WLTP range. The launch range comprises the GLA 200 electric, GLA 250+ electric and GLA 350 4MATIC electric. Orders opened on July 30, 2026, ahead of its planned November market launch.

This completely redesigned generation opens a new chapter for the GLA. Mercedes-Benz introduced it with three electric versions, while 48-volt electrified combustion powertrains are due to follow in early 2027. The electric GLA is built in Rastatt, Germany. Its arrival forms part of the brand’s technology programme centred on the MB.OS operating system and latest-generation MBUX.
GLA with EQ technology is presented here with its key technical data: 114 - 222 ch, 230 - 400 Nm, 6.7 - 8.9 s, 204 - 240 km/h. The recorded setup is Traction / Automatique, 7 rapports.
The new GLA is 4,565 mm long, 1,873 mm wide and 1,604 mm high, with a 2,790 mm wheelbase. Its boot provides 410 litres, 70 litres more than the previous model, and expands to 1,400 litres with the rear seatbacks folded. Electric versions add a 107-litre front compartment. The GLA 350 4MATIC can tow up to 2,000 kg with a braked trailer, compared with 1,500 kg for the two rear-wheel-drive versions.
Production
The 800-volt electrical architecture enables up to 320 kW DC charging on the GLA 250+ and GLA 350 4MATIC. They charge from 10 to 80% in 22 minutes and can respectively recover 270 and 265 km of WLTP range in ten minutes. The GLA 200 accepts 200 kW, completes 10–80% in 20 minutes and recovers up to 165 km in ten minutes. An 11 kW onboard charger is standard and 22 kW capability is optional.

Mercedes-Benz positions this GLA as a compact SUV designed for everyday use, with more space and long-distance electric range. The manufacturer also reports an approximately 40% reduction in value-chain carbon footprint for the electric version compared with the then-current combustion-engined GLA. This manufacturer figure notably reflects the new cell generation and increased use of recycled materials.
Evolution
The 2026 GLA adopts a lower silhouette, a wheelbase extended by 61 mm and a wider rear track. The electric version is distinguished by an illuminated grille and new lighting signature. Its drag coefficient falls to 0.27. Inside, the layout becomes more horizontal and can feature the MBUX Superscreen, combining a 10.25-inch driver display, 14-inch central screen and 14-inch passenger display beneath a single glass surface.
Variants
Mercedes-Benz technical data sheets dated July 24, 2026 detail three electric versions. The rear-wheel-drive GLA 200 electric produces 165 kW and 335 Nm, with a 58 kWh usable LFP battery, 394–447 km WLTP range and 0–100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive GLA 250+ electric produces 200 kW and 335 Nm, with an 85 kWh usable NMC battery, 577–657 km range and 0–100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The GLA 350 4MATIC electric combines all-wheel drive, 260 kW and 515 Nm; its 85 kWh usable NMC battery provides 555–643 km WLTP and 0–100 km/h takes 5.4 seconds. All three versions reach 210 km/h.
