Bentley Bentayga 2016
The Bentley Bentayga Base 2016 belongs to Bentley’s first SUV, created to combine the brand’s luxury ethos with a taller, more versatile body style. In this base form, the model is defined above all by the original powertrain for the range, a 6.0-litre petrol W12. The cabin reflects Bentley’s traditional craftsmanship, with carefully finished leather, wood trim, and metal details. In 2016, it already occupied a key place within the Bentayga family, before later derivatives shifted the focus toward efficiency, bespoke detailing, or a more performance-led character.

History
The Bentayga was created when Bentley decided to enter the SUV market without giving up the luxury, power, and customisation associated with the brand. Revealed in 2015, it brought a new high-riding and versatile body style to Bentley’s range while keeping an interior atmosphere closer to that of a prestige saloon. The first version used a 6.0-litre petrol W12, immediately placing the model among the fastest SUVs of its time.
The 2016 Bentayga Base therefore sits at the starting point of this first generation. It is the version most closely tied to the original specification of the model, before more distinctive derivatives appeared. The range then broadened with the Diesel in 2016, followed by other versions such as Mulliner, V8, Hybrid, and Speed. The Bentayga introduced in 2020 belongs to a different generation and should not be confused with this first family.
