Audi A6 e-tron Sportback 2024
Unveiled on July 31, 2024, the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron introduces the fully electric A6 in a five-door, coupé-like body. As Audi’s second model developed on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), it combines an 800-volt electrical architecture, DC charging at up to 270 kW and a drag coefficient of 0.21 — the lowest achieved by a production Audi at launch.
History
The A6 e-tron carries into the electric era a model line that began as the Audi 100 in 1968 and adopted the A6 name in 1994. Following the 2021 A6 e-tron concept, Audi unveiled the production model in July 2024 in both Sportback and Avant forms. The performance and S6 versions opened for orders in September 2024, followed in October by the entry-level rear-wheel-drive model and the quattro variant.

Anecdotes
Despite its coupé-like profile, the Sportback provides five seats, a 502-litre luggage compartment expandable to 1,330 litres and a 27-litre front compartment. It is 4,928 mm long, 1,923 mm wide excluding mirrors and has a wheelbase of approximately 2,950 mm. On the large-battery versions, Audi quotes a 10–80% DC charging time of 21 minutes at a suitable charger.
Production
The A6 e-tron is built on the PPE platform jointly developed by Audi and Porsche. The 210 kW version uses an 83 kWh gross battery (75.8 kWh usable) and accepts up to 225 kW DC. The performance and quattro versions receive a 100 kWh gross battery (94.9 kWh usable) and can reach 270 kW. All three technical data sheets specify 11 kW AC charging.
Press reception
Aerodynamic efficiency is one of the car’s defining technical features: with a drag coefficient of 0.21, Audi describes the Sportback as the most aerodynamic model in its history. In 2026, Audi also reported a five-star Euro NCAP result for the A6 e-tron range and a 2025 “Best in Class” distinction in the Executive Car category.
