Brand history

Founded in 1912 by William Morris, WRM Motors Limited opened its first factory in Cowley, Oxford, in 1913. The first model, the Morris Oxford "Bullnose", was introduced in 1913. By 1924, Morris's production accounted for 42% of British car manufacturing. In 1952, Morris merged with Austin to form the British Motor Corporation (BMC). In 1968, BMC became British Leyland, and production under the Morris brand ceased in 1984. (en.wikipedia.org)

Positioning

Morris positioned itself as a major British car manufacturer, producing reliable and affordable vehicles for the general public. The brand was particularly recognized for its compact and economical models, suited to the needs of British families. After merging with Austin in 1952, Morris continued to produce vehicles under the BMC brand, then under British Leyland until the end of production under the Morris name in 1984. (en.wikipedia.org)
