Founded in 1944 as Kyungsung Precision Industry, Kia evolved to become South Korea's first automobile manufacturer. After producing bicycles and motorcycles, the company launched its first car, the Brisa, in 1974. In the 1980s, Kia expanded its production by partnering with Mazda to manufacture vehicles like the Pride, based on the Mazda 121. In 1992, Kia introduced the Sephia, its first internally developed car. The following year, the Sportage was launched, marking Kia's entry into the SUV segment. In 1998, Kia merged with Hyundai, strengthening its position in the global market. Since then, the brand has expanded its lineup to include models such as the Sorento, Soul, and Stinger, focusing on innovation and quality.
