Ferrari Roma Stradale 2020

The Ferrari Roma Stradale 2020 belongs to Ferrari’s grand touring tradition, where elegance and performance are meant to coexist. Within the Roma range, it follows the coupé formula and carries the model’s smooth, restrained proportions, including a long hood, muscular rear haunches, and clean body lines. Its character is defined by a refined approach to sporty driving, aligned with the classic grand tourers that inspired the Roma’s design language. Details such as flush door handles and twin rear lights integrated into the bodywork help give it a distinctive yet understated identity.

History

The Roma was unveiled online in November 2019 and then shown to the public in Rome on 14 November 2019. It began a new Ferrari series with no previous generation, while drawing on the brand’s grand tourer heritage. Its design takes cues from classic 1950s and 1960s GT cars, but it also incorporates modern technology to support a polished driving experience. In that timeline, the Roma Stradale 2020 represents the original coupé version at launch, before the range was expanded in 2023 with the Roma Spider. The Spider later added an open-air alternative, while keeping the Roma’s core design and performance character.

Evolution

The Roma Stradale 2020 is the original form of the Roma, with the coupé layout serving as the starting point for the range. The dossier does not identify any Stradale-specific changes over the standard Roma, but it does place it as the closed-body expression of the model. Its evolution is best understood in contrast with the later Roma Spider, which changes the roof configuration without altering the overall concept. As a result, the Stradale remains the most direct interpretation of the Roma idea, centered on clean design and grand touring sport character.

Variants

In the verified material, the Roma Stradale 2020 corresponds to the coupé body style in the Roma family. The later variant mentioned is the Roma Spider, introduced in 2023, which adds open-air driving while retaining the model’s performance and design traits. Both versions share the same 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 with 620 horsepower and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. To identify the Stradale, the key point is its closed-roof silhouette and coupé character, as opposed to the Spider’s convertible configuration.
