CZ26

2026

The Ferrari CZ26 is a unique 2026 creation developed for a US client through Ferrari’s Special Projects programme. It was unveiled at Monterey Car Week on August 14, 2026, using the platform and plug-in hybrid powertrain of the SF90 Stradale while receiving a completely bespoke body designed by Ferrari’s Design Studio under Flavio Manzoni. The car therefore retains the technical foundation of Ferrari’s series-production hybrid supercar but gains its own visual identity, including a full-width front grille, integrated headlights, reshaped wheel arches and slim rear lighting. Ferrari also states that the bespoke bodywork brings revised aerodynamic and thermal-management solutions, adapting the exclusive design to the SF90-based mechanical package.

Model introduction

History

The CZ26 belongs to Ferrari’s long tradition of one-off cars created for individual collectors. The Special Projects programme, launched with the F430-based SP1 in 2008, allows a client to participate in the creation of a highly individual Ferrari. Ferrari describes the process as a collaboration between the owner, the Styling Centre and engineering teams, with the complete project taking around two years on average before production is completed. The CZ26 sits within that bespoke category rather than forming part of a conventional production range. Its public unveiling was reported at Monterey Car Week in August 2026, following a US trademark filing for Ferrari CZ26 made in March 2025. The American registration covers automobiles, sports cars and scale models, but does not provide technical information about the vehicle itself. The use of an SF90 Stradale foundation can reasonably be linked to the timescale of a Special Projects commission: a one-off Ferrari takes several years to develop. The CZ26 therefore retains the SF90’s plug-in hybrid V8 architecture while becoming an independent design statement, built for one owner rather than for series production.

Generations

The Ferrari CZ26 does not represent a generation in the usual automotive sense. It is not the successor to an earlier model and is not a model family produced across several model years. Instead, it is a single Special Projects commission developed from an existing Ferrari. Available information in 2026 identifies one car, publicly presented as a bespoke creation. Its technical foundation comes from the Ferrari SF90 Stradale: a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, plug-in hybrid system and three electric motors, with two positioned on the front axle and a third located between the combustion engine and the dual-clutch gearbox. The CZ26 retains that architecture while receiving extensively redesigned bodywork and revised airflow-management features. No first, second or third generation has been documented. Any future vehicle using the CZ26 name should be treated as unconfirmed unless Ferrari announces it officially. The only supported distinction at present is the unique car unveiled in 2026. It should not be confused with the regular SF90 Stradale, the SF90 Spider, or the limited-production SF90 XX Stradale and SF90 XX Spider.

Key differences

The main difference between the CZ26 and the SF90 Stradale lies in the bodywork and aerodynamic development rather than in the powertrain. The CZ26 receives a new full-width front grille with integrated headlights. Its side air intakes gain an additional internal duct, the wheel arches are reshaped and the bumpers use bespoke forms. At the rear, the SF90’s squared lighting units are replaced by slimmer LED elements. The diffuser adopts a more horizontal layout, while the central titanium twin exhaust outlets are retained. Ferrari also states that the radiator pack has been redesigned, dedicated bypass ducts have been added, the underbody has been revised and the engine-cover vents have been adapted for thermal management. The published output remains 987bhp and the 0–62mph time remains 2.5 seconds, but the CZ26’s stated top speed is 203mph, compared with 211mph for the SF90 Stradale. These figures should be read as the reported specification of the one-off car, not as a separate production model range.

Photo recognition

The CZ26 is easiest to identify from its radically different front end. A dark grille spans the full width of the nose and incorporates very slim headlights, replacing the more familiar SF90 Stradale lighting signature. The overall treatment is more horizontal and geometric than the donor car’s design. From the side, the wings are completely reshaped and the Ferrari shield is moved onto the door. The bespoke wheels combine exposed metallic surfaces with a gloss-black finish. The side intakes still provide a visual link to the SF90 platform, helping distinguish the car from an entirely unrelated Ferrari project. At the rear, look for the narrow LED lights, the visually wider horizontal diffuser and the central titanium twin exhaust outlets. The exterior combines a silver main body colour with black and Rosso Lampante details. The cabin follows the same theme with carbon-fibre bucket seats, red 3D-printed inserts and CZ26 branding. These visual clues are more dependable than attempts to decode the name, whose meaning Ferrari has not publicly explained.

Important versions

Only one Ferrari CZ26 configuration is currently documented: a unique car unveiled in 2026. The available model designation identifies a “Base” version for the 2026 model year, with no other confirmed trim, body style or derivative. This label describes the recorded configuration and does not imply that Ferrari sells a conventional CZ26 range. The vehicle itself is a Special Projects commission created for a US client. Its equipment and performance should therefore be treated as specific to this individual example unless Ferrari publishes additional official information.
