Brand history

Founded in 1972 by Giampaolo Dallara in Varano de' Melegari, Italy, Dallara Automobili initially designed chassis for sports and hillclimb racing. After collaborations with Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, and De Tomaso, Dallara established his own company. In 1978, the company designed its first Formula 3 car, the Dallara 378, which dominated international championships in this category. In 1998, Dallara achieved its first victory at the Indianapolis 500 with the Dallara IR8, marking the beginning of a series of successes in this race. In 2017, Dallara launched the Stradale, its first road car, combining its expertise in aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and composite materials. (dallara.it)
