History
In 1984, Toyota replaced the European Carina with a rebadged version of the Toyota Corona T150. The new model was named Carina II to maintain the Carina brand recognition in Europe. The first generation introduced front-wheel drive and was offered as a sedan and liftback. In 1988, a second generation based on the Corona T170 arrived with updated styling and a new wagon body style. Thanks to its outstanding reliability, the Carina II became popular across Europe before being replaced by the Carina E in 1992.

Key differences

The T170 generation also introduced a wagon body style that was unavailable on the first generation.
