Brand history

Iveco was founded on January 1, 1975, following the merger of five European companies: Fiat Veicoli Industriali, OM, Lancia Veicoli Speciali, Unic, and Magirus-Deutz. (iveco.com) This union allowed Iveco to streamline its product range, manufacturing plants, and sales network while retaining the original brands. In the early years, Iveco's lineup included 200 base models and 600 versions, ranging from light vehicles with a GVW of 2.7 tons to heavy vehicles over 40 tons, as well as buses and engines. (en.wikipedia.org) In 1986, Iveco established a joint venture with Ford, Iveco Ford Truck Ltd, holding a 52% stake, to produce and sell commercial vehicles in Europe. (iveco.com) During the 1990s, Iveco acquired Pegaso, a Spanish industrial vehicle manufacturer, and launched flagship models such as the EuroCargo and EuroTech, recognized with the Truck of the Year award in 1992 and 1993. (iveco.com) In 2007, Iveco introduced the Massif, a 4x4 utility vehicle produced in Spain, aimed at utility and military services, and also developed the LMV (Light Multirole Vehicle), a 4x4 tactical vehicle adopted by several armies. To recognize an Iveco vehicle, look for the distinctive brand logo, often located on the grille or rear tailgate. Models from the Daily range are characterized by their utilitarian design and compact dimensions, ideal for urban deliveries. Trucks from the Euro series, such as the EuroCargo and EuroTech, feature robust lines and a prominent grille. The Massif, an off-road vehicle, stands out with its boxy silhouette and large wheels, suited for challenging terrains.
