Aixam was founded in 1983 in Aix-les-Bains, France, following the acquisition of Arola, a pioneer in the manufacture of quadricycles. In 1984, Aixam launched its first model, the 325 D, a lightweight quadricycle limited to 45 km/h, catering to the need for license-free mobility. In 1985, the brand expanded its range with the 400 D, a heavy quadricycle reaching 75 km/h, requiring a specific driving license. In 1992, Aixam diversified its activities by creating the MEGA brand, dedicated to prestige and competition vehicles, showcasing its expertise in design and manufacturing. Over the years, Aixam continued to innovate, introducing models such as the Scouty R in 2005, the Crossline in 2006, and the GTO in 2011, solidifying its position as a leader in the European quadricycle market.
