1. The right angle

A front three-quarter shot is still the most useful for identifying a model: it shows the front end, the body line, the wheels, and part of the rear. A strict side shot or a very tight crop provides less useful information.

2. Light and clarity

• Prefer even natural light.
• Avoid strong backlight.
• Clean the lens before shooting.
• Avoid low-quality screenshots or compressed images.

3. License plates and privacy

If the plate is readable, the best approach is to blur it before publication or use the tools provided on the platform. A photo can be visually strong while still respecting privacy and public publishing requirements.

4. Copyright and permission

Only publish photos you have the right to use. A strong image reused without permission weakens trust and can expose the platform to takedown requests.

5. What makes a useful contribution

A useful contribution is not only aesthetic. It also helps document a make or model correctly: readable angle, identifiable car, sharp image, and enough context to enrich the library.
