Czinger 21C Spyder: key facts
The Czinger 21C Spyder brings the 21C hybrid powertrain to an open body with a removable roof panel. The American hypercar combines a 2.88-litre twin-turbo V8 with two front electric motors and a crank-mounted motor-generator. Total output is 1,250 hp, delivered through all four wheels.
Czinger lists a 205 mph (330 km/h) top speed and an 11,000 rpm redline for its in-house V8. Production is limited to 30 cars.
How can you recognize the Czinger 21C Spyder?
Its tandem cockpit is the clearest clue. The driver sits centrally and the passenger occupies a second seat directly behind, making the cabin much narrower than a conventional side-by-side hypercar.
The Spyder retains the low 21C profile but adds a removable roof panel. Its slim pillars, open cockpit and intake behind the occupants separate it from the closed variants. A carbon-fibre monocoque is combined with computationally optimized, additively manufactured metal structures.
A 1,250 hp hybrid V8
The 2,880 cc twin-turbo V8 produces 750 hp on its own. Two electric motors drive the front axle and a motor-generator is mounted to the crankshaft, taking combined output to 1,250 hp on US 91-octane pump fuel.
Claimed performance includes 0–60 mph in about 1.9 seconds, an 8.7-second quarter mile and a 205 mph top speed. These remain manufacturer figures until independently verified on a production car.
Why does it use so much 3D printing?
Czinger develops its cars with Divergent Technologies. The manufacturer says 23 percent of the Spyder is topology-optimized and additively manufactured. The process creates complex structures for the chassis, NeuralNode dashboard and BrakeNode, which integrates suspension and braking functions.
The roof and its additional reinforcement add roughly 22 lb. Downforce is quoted at nearly 3,307 lb with the roof fitted and remains close to that figure with it removed. Reported dry weight is approximately 3,571 lb.
Limited to 30 cars
Only 30 Czinger 21C Spyders are planned, starting at $2.75 million. Buyers can personalize paint, exposed carbon, chassis details and the interior.
